Nothing is sadder then when a hentai makes you appreciate the original Night Shift Nurses OVA, but damn does this do a good job of that. and that's why you stick to one company for all your adaptations.īut yeah, continuity weirdness aside Night Shift Nurses 2 easily qualifies as one of the worst things I have ever seen. He sure does show up in the second one though. So in the Night Shift Nurses 1 OVA, the creators seemed to go with the bad end and kill off the main character. So anyway, what I'm kind of trying to get at here, is that in the first OVA Hirasaka, the protagonist gets the shit murdered out of him and, after surviving that, gets the shit murdered out of him again. When a sequel is made to a visual novel, the creators can pick which story line is the official continuity and make the sequel based on that continuity, but that particular continuity may not have been the story of the adaptation.

In almost any visual novel there will be many possible endings, and adaptations will generally only be able to adapt one story line. It is based on the second games in the franchise by Mink, and represents one of the major issues with making OVA adaptations of a series of games. Night Shift Nurses 2 was made in 2004 and had a total of five episodes. I'm kind of dreading this though, since based on a quick glance at getchu, researching for that post will be a nightmare. I don't know much about D3, but inevitably I'll be giving them their own post since they are responsible for one of the hentais in my top ten. Unlike most other things in the franchise, Night Shift Nurses 2 was not done by discovery, but instead done by a production company called D3. Its sequel, Yakin Byoutou Ni or Night Shift Nurses 2, continues the trend of being atrocious, but manages to have none of the charms of the original that failed to make it watchable. Night Shift Nurses may be horrible, but at least there are some positive qualities. Since I was stupid enough to watch some of them, I figured I'd give a brief discussion of them.

But anyway, after the main series ended, the Night Shift Nurses franchise continued to blight our world with yet more horrible things, but now with lower animation budgets. God help me when I get to the weird spin offs. The ultimate irony here is that I started working on these Night Shift Nurses posts in order to avoid watching stuff made by 5 Ways, but actually watching more things in the Night Shift Nurses franchise is way worse than anything by 5 Ways.
